Kyanite  is found in many parts of the world and comes in several colors including blue, green, white, colorless, gray, orange or yellow.  Blue is the preferred and most common color used for jewelry.  It often has whitish streaks and a pearly luster.  One interesting fact about Kyanite is that its hardness is dependent on the direction in which it is cut.  Spiritual healers believe that Kyanite has a high vibrational energy.  It is thought to align the chakras, the throat chakra in particular, improving communication.  It is also deemed helpful in meditation and manifestation.
